About me

I am a Physics graduate turned Data Scientist with 5+ years of working experience in industrial R&D and Data Science. I am passionate about RL, causal AI and the opportunities that GenAI is unlocking. I have worked on the end-to-end development of an IoT product, led a small team at 22 and hosted a series of workshops for the FactoryPal Data Science team. With an analytical mindset, I always strive to understand the bigger picture to solve problems pragmatically. I am a proactive person with a social conscience who loves to leverage data to make a positive difference.

Experience

SFB 1294, University of Potsdam, Potsdam
Research collaboration / Master project
Feb 2023 – Aug 2023 Potsdam
  • Analysing and extending existing regime dependent causal discovery algorithms for the non-linear case. Such algorithms are of great importance both in the geosciences and in personalised medicine, where seasons and treatments may change the underlying data generating process.

FactoryPal
Data Science Working Student
Dec 2021 – May 2023 Berlin
  • Analysed the adoption of our algorithm recommendations by the shopfloor operators.
  • Researched the regime dependent performance of multiple models and designed a feature for semi-dynamic recommendations that capture the current state of the production line.
  • Day-to-day data science tasks; fixing bugs and implementing features to keep our pipelines running.

FFT Produktionssysteme GmbH
Research and Development Engineer
Jun 2019 – May 2021 Bremen
  • Designed a PCB (Printed Circuit Board) with sensors, display and wireless capability, which is now in the process of getting a CE certification.
  • Conceptualized and developed an IoT sensor and gateway for safer sailplane winch launches. During 2020 we deployed the system in two flight clubs and collected data of over 200 launches.
  • Coordinated the work of three master students during their internships. Also mentored one masters thesis on the use of RFID for logistics.
  • Designed and led the SW architecture of a calibration machine for load cells and force transducers.
  • Contributed to the concept and development of a data management and evaluation tool based on the Odoo framework.

FFT Produktionssysteme GmbH
Internship - Engineer in R&D and Embedded Systems
Jun 2018 – Jun 2019 Bremen
  • Developed a wireless sensor network for structural monitoring of transportation modules.
  • Designed a PCB prototype with sensors, display and wireless capability.
  • Wrote and tested C drivers and libraries for the PCB sensors and display.

Education

University of Technology Sydney
Exchange Student - Master in Data Science and Innovation
Jul 2023 – Present Sydney
  • Courses: Advanced Machine Learning Applications, Leading Data Science Initiatives and Rapid Value Creation.
  • Within Rapid Value Creation I used generative AI to enter markets such as Etsy, Amazon and YouTube. I also crafted a chatbot business based on LLMs.
